And we’re certainly not stalling from carrying out the fraternal mission of service as the Royal Arcanum.  The grand and subordinate councils continue to promote our fraternal benefit society to potential new members and to community causes.  Members’ enthusiasm and ‘Revived’ spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood are promoting the Society with volunteer endeavors and charitable initiatives; they are making a positive difference from coast to coast. It’s a wonderful time of year when we hear from many of our jurisdictions of plans to share blessings, fellowship, and goodwill with those in need. Sadly, several charitable organizations that closed during the pandemic never reopened, and volunteers may now be smaller in number. However, needs remain prevalent. We acknowledge all of our members for their dedication to furthering the fraternal cause and exemplifying the “Charity” that is our greatest attribute.  Member engagement, community partnerships, and lasting friendships are formed in our great fraternal benefit society, and we’re happy to have our fraternal family welcoming new members. Take a minute to introduce family and friends to the Royal Arcanum.  Our Bulletins, brochures, and website highlight the Society, but the greatest invitation just may be a “call” from you! Cindy Macon Chairperson of the Executive Committee      A "Spook-tacular" Time for Our Juniors The Royal Arcanum proudly continues a variety of programs with lots of “treats” for our younger members.  With classes now well underway, make sure that eligible Juniors who will be graduating from high school next spring apply for our scholarship program before December 31st. It’s also time to recognize young leaders in your council by submitting nominations for the Youth of the Year Award.  Program guidelines are on the Royal Arcanum website and in the spring issue of the Bulletin.  Be sure to send all nomination materials to the Home Office by November 30th.  Junior honorees receive a $300 award. Encourage the young members to participate in the Junior Writing program; winning submissions are printed in the Bulletin, and the Juniors can earn a gift card and trophy.  The Bulletin’s coloring and puzzle pages continue to be well-received, as Juniors receive Amazon gift cards for their submissions. We hope that many councils will host a Junior Family Day activity for the holiday season. Contact the Junior Director at least a month in advance of the event so that a little something special from the Junior Department can be sent for the celebration. Errica Conforto Junior Director      Halloween Snack Mix After trick-or-treating, enjoy this treat and relax with family and friends. Ingredients: 4 cups popped popcorn 1/4 cup cocktail peanuts 1/4 cup mini pretzels 1/4 cup candy pumpkins  1/2 cup white chocolate chips 1 teaspoon shortening In a large bowl, stir together popcorn, peanuts, pretzels, and candy pumpkins. Spread onto a parchment paper-lined jelly roll pan. Add white chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl and add shortening or coconut oil. Microwave at medium (50%) for about 20 seconds and stir until smooth. If chips are not smooth, return to microwave at 10-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth. Drizzle over popcorn mix and allow to reach room temperature for the chocolate to harden before serving. Makes about 5 cups.       Charitable Activities Highlights   Bayonne Council #695 Felician School for Exceptional Children/Lodi We see a lot of the Felician School for Exceptional Children, Lodi, in our charitable highlights. This month, Bayonne Council #695 stepped up to support the Felician School for Exceptional Children in Lodi for their 2025 IFS Project. The Felician School specializes in care for youngsters with special needs and helps them to live independent and productive lives. https://www.fsec.org/   Medora Council #1648 American Red Cross for Texas Flood Relief The American Red Cross is one of the first on the scene when disasters strike, and the flood in the Central Texas region around the Guadalupe River and the surrounding area was no exception. Answering the call from the Fraternal Department's call for aid, Medora Council reached out to help the American Red Cross in their support for disaster relief.  https://www.redcross.org      College News   Submit Your Tuition Bills   If they haven't already, it's time for Scholarship winners to submit their tuition bills to fulfill the requirement for their scholarship, so the monies are earmarked correctly and sent to the right college. If you have any questions, please contact the Home Office.   Scholarship Application Reminder   Academic scholarship applications should be sent to the Home Office by December 31, 2025. To apply, call 1-888-ARCANUM or visit our website.    SAT, ACT, PSAT, LSAT Training Benefit   Junior members: why not take a training program for SAT, ACT, PSAT, or LSAT to prepare to get your best score? Junior members are eligible for the Royal Arcanum to reimburse them for up to $100 for training. Mail a copy of your paid training program receipt to the Home Office or contact the Home Office for details.   College Care Packages   Royal Arcanum junior members who are college students can register to receive a care package at the beginning of the new year for the next semester.
