It was 150 years ago, on March 7, 1876, that Alexander Graham Bell, a Scottish-born American inventor, was granted a U.S. patent for the telephone. A few days later, he made the first telephone call. Phones and modes of communication have certainly evolved over the past century and a half, but one thing hasn’t changed – We like to stay connected!
As fraternal brothers and sisters in the Royal Arcanum, we are fortunate to stay connected through the activities and communications of the supreme, grand, and subordinate councils. Whether near or far, members can engage in the good works of the Society by participating in various programs and connecting with fellow officers and members for volunteer projects to help community causes.
Connecting with members who have been a bit “under the weather” is a meaningful way to let them know that they are thought about often and that we’re wishing them well. It can be a card, note, or phone call to say, “Hi!” and such kind gestures can certainly brighten their day!
Council meetings, dinners, and socials are ways to connect prospective members with our fraternalists-in-action so that they can learn more about our organization and hopefully consider enrolling into a great Society, too!

As one of the oldest and most successful fraternal benefit societies in our country, we look forward to continuing to grow our family. We anticipate heading enthusiastically into the future with a “Revived” spirit, as the Royal Arcanum journeys onward to its own 150th anniversary celebration in June 2027.
